    Round 5 - Infineion Long - Febuary 5th

Post by NoRecoil on Tue Jan 31, 2012 2:14 am

    Infineion Long

    Format:
    Qualifying: 4 laps
    Race: Sprint Round - 2 x 85km races (21 Laps x 2)

    Grid Order:
    Race 1 - Qualifying
    Race 2 - Reverse Grid

Time: Lobbies open 1:45PM EDT (TAS,NSW and VIC time)
If your lobby is together earlier you can to run straight away.

    Lobby Host:

Room 1 will be Hosted by NoRecoil
Room 2 Will be Hosted By Crimson1973
Please ensure you have someone in your room save the Replays as they may be required later.
You will also need people to take Pictures of the Results, it may be best discussed before the race who is going to - the more people able to the better as there will be lower chances of missing the results.

    Results for Round 5:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

    Drivers:
NO Restarts and NO Safety Cars- You will most likely have to pit at this distance so a damaged car wont be the end of your race.
All drivers are reminded Look after your car and others around you, especially in the reverse grid races. Incidents will happen from time to time, if your car is damaged dont be a bad sport about it, do what you can to finish the race - a DNF due to a rage quit will always result in 0 (zero) points for that race.

Poor sportsman like manoeuvres or driving can be penalised - Race as clean as possible and aim to keep at least 2 wheels on the track at all time, cutting corners lap after lap will not be tolerated.

If your are involved in an accident ensure you warn the drivers behind you, especially if your car is blocking or on the track - saying "oh shit" is not a warning, let them know what side of the track is clear and rejoin when safe to do so.

Finally please restart your router before attempting to connect to the game - If you have not port forwarded your your router or setup a DMZ you may have a strict NAT which wont let yourself or others join the session.

If you are unsure of anything please ask below or find me on XBL, and if you cant make it to the round please notify me below ASAP.

    Good Luck

I'll be going to Infineon with a vengeance! So far in the series I haven't been able to show the true speed in the car due bad qualifying, getting caught up in incidents, Xbox freezing and running out of Internet.
Hopefully I can change all that on Sunday.

ok i'll get the ball rolling with a 1:45:9. Infineon is a track i am very much getting to grips with still, so safe to say i have another half second to find by race-day.

Yeah, no problem. I'll be on. I have ADSL 2 about 14Mbps upload and 1Mbp upload. Don't usually have any issues racing anyone from either OZFM or here so my NAT is okay. I'll log on @ about 1:15pm we can sort it out from there.

No pitstop strategy worked a charm in race 1, I think I picked up at least 1 position by not stopping.

Race 2 however I defended too hard in the opening laps holding onto third, wearing out the rubber. I think I lost 4 or 5 positions in the final 2 laps as the tyres were cactus.

I totally planned to pit in race 2, I changed my mind and payed the price.

    That's racing.

Quite disappointed you dropped Recoil, I think we would've had a great race for positions.

*idea: If there were 1 or 2 less laps it would make a no stop strategy more viable. Every week having the entire field (almost) following the same strategy is a little boring and I think defeats the idea of the tyre degradation mixing it up a bit.
