4. The Championship
There will be 32 spaces for participants in the championship, if there is more then 32 applicants at the start of the series then only the top 32 after the qualifying will compete in the series.
If a qualified driver can not make a round and notifies an organiser at least 2 days prior to the race, then all positions will jump up one position and the driver who qualified 33rd can compete for that round.
The Points
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Winner of Room 2 will get +2 Points.
Second place in Room 2 will get +1 Point.
There total will depend on the number competing each week.
Three Championships in One
On the completion of qualifying you will be 'classed' for which championship you are eligible for.
CHAMP Cup
The winner of the CHAMP Cup is the participant with the most points come the end of the season - The top 18 drivers after qualifying will be eligible for the CHAMP Cup.
CHALLENGE Cup
This cup is designed to involve participants who qualified outside the top 18 and therefore are normally not in contention for the CHAMP Cup. Drivers in a team are still eligible for the CHALLENGE Cup.
TEAM Cup
The winner of the TEAM Cup is the team with the most points come the end of the season, regardless of there qualifying classing.
If a new team is created after the start of the season, and none of the team's two drivers have already been in a team before in the same championship, then all the drivers' points from previous rounds will be added to their teams total to keep them as competitive as possible.
Race Schedule
Each race will be between 70km and 130km long - the number of laps will depend on the circuit.
Races will take place on Sunday Afternoons, with lobbies opening at 2pm ADST.
For full details and round information including tracks and race lengths please see the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Rooms/Lobbies
Lobbies after week 1 qualifying will be decided each week depending on your over all championship points - 1st to 16th in the championship Room 1, 17th to 32nd Room 2: in the event of having less then 32 players (and more then 16) then the lobbies will be halved into even rooms.
Miscellaneous Information
Dropped Round
The dropped event rule will be in effect for all three Cups, meaning that the six best event results out of seven will go towards the driver's points total. This allows drivers to miss one round at no disadvantage; any additional absences will reduce the driver's chances of a high finish in the standings. The TEAM Cup will drop the worst round of both drivers.
LAG outs and DNF's
If a driver LAGS out during a race and are able to finish the race alone then they are still able to attain points for that round - the player who lagged out must finish the race and take a photo of the finish screen with there GT and total time visible, a 10 second margin will be added to there total time to simulate other traffic and they will be slotted into there finishing position in comparison to the rest of the results.
A DNF due to damage and not going to the pits to repair or quitting early will always result in 0 points for that round.
Driving Guidelines
If you make a mistake do not impede other drivers behind you when re-entering.
- There will always be racing incidents... If you do make a mistake do everything you can to avoid contact with the other cars on the circuit.
Back Markers DO NOT Race Front Runners
Do not race or attempt to defend your position against a car that is about to lap you. Move to the side as soon as possible and give the lead cars room to pass.
Penalties
Drivers who are unable to stay within series rules, behave in an 'unsportsman-like manner' or are rude/inconsiderate toward other players may receive points deducted from there results.
If at any point there is any issue of 'unsporting conduct' please PM an organiser with the following details:
What lap?
What happened?
Then send a replay of the incident to NoRecoil - We will watch the replay and assess the situation further if we feel its required.
Do the crime - pay the fine.
I hope that at no time this is needed - Treat each other with respect and this should never be needed.
